Q: Land Rover Defender 3door can any one tell me about its good or bad?
Land Rover Defender i like 3 door any one can tell me it good and bad about it,s driver durable or not.
A: First it’s what size Defender 90 110 130. I take it by 3 door you mean the hard top. Have you ever driven a Defender before? They do not drive like cars it is in basic terms a work vehicle. Hard rough ride, not much room inside, noisy, drafty and the worst heater in history. If you can cope with this you will love it if you want comfort or drive only on the road don’t bother. If it’s and old defender be prepared to be laying under it on at least a monthly basis. I love land rovers and have 2 but take them for what they are work vehicles and good 4×4s not cars.
Q: What is the likelyhood of me being able to purchase a new Land Rover Defender in the US?
I want to buy a new Land Rover Defender, but I can’t because they are not available in the USA. Anyone out there have the scoop on if they will ever be available in the USA?
A: I guess you are spending more money as there is a chance of more insurance there if you transport it from other place and it also requires more time.
Q: Does anyone know where I can get a Land Rover Defender battery cut-off key?
I only have one for my Land Rover Defender 90, and I need a second one really, but have no idea where to get one. The type I have is a red plastic key that goes under the passenger seat. Anyone know where I can order another?
A: a local locksmith should have keys for a 90 land rover, it uses the same key blanks as fiat cars 62ft and 62fs if you want to call the locksmith ahead of time ask if he has either of those two key blanks in stock.

Q: Where can i buy a left hand drive 2005 Land Rover Defender in the U.S?
I want to buy a 2001 and up series Land Rover Defender and i want to know where i can get one in the United States. If i cant buy one here, where can i get a left hand drive defender that is over 2001 in years and how can i get it to the U.S?
A: Try contacting a local Land Rover dealership and see if they can special order one for you. The downside is it might be a bit pricey.
Q: Is it possible to use land rover defender 110 rear dif with a land rover 90 front dif?
Is it possible to use land rover defender 110 rear dif with a land rover 90 front dif? Will it cause any probs when I try to use 4 wheel drive??
A: Are the differential ratios the same? If not the 2 diffs would be fighting each other and cause binding in the drivetrain, with a big breakage soon after.
Q: what cars are similar to Mercades G-box and Land Rover Defender?
What is a car similar to the Mercades G-Box and the 2007 Land Rover Defender that is available in the US and is in a lower price range? I love the look of these cars and would love to have something similar to it. Thanks!
A: Are you looking for a combination of space, off-road ability and reliability?
Take a look at Toyota FJ cruiser
if price is still too high – take a test drive on 2001-2004 Nissan Pathfinder, be sure it is 5 sp manual, well maintained and the experience will not be disappointing
Q: How much ground clearance did a stock Land Rover Defender 90 have?
I am looking for the ground clearance measurement (in inches) for a stock Land Rover Defender 90. Preferably for the 1994 D90 Automatic. I know ground clearance depends on suspension, wheels, tires, and what transmission is hanging out of the bottom of the car, so if anyone has the original stock number, it would be a huge help.
A: 800000000000000 FEET
Q: We’re about to look at a land rover defender any advice??
I am thinking about buying a land rover defender 110,1990, that has been fitted with a discover engine thathas only 50k on the clock, am i looking at trouble?? I am going to see it today, what should i look out for? Thanks
A: From what I understand, maintenance will be very expensive. My co-worker has a Land Rover (not sure which model) and new breaks costs him $1200.
Q: Land Rover Defender with Isuzu Engine Conversion?
I want to swap my Land Rover Defender engine with an Isuzu Turbo Diesel engine. I need to find out where I can get a engine swap kit and which of the Isuzu engines matches the best with my defender.
A: Here’s a guy who did it: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2267
Q: 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, service engine light on?
I am having a difficult time with this one this is a 97 Land Rover Defender 90 , I have a fault code P1317 that is the rough road signal did all the tests for continuity found all the wires from connector C636 to C501 to be intact etc.
The Service Reminder Unit is not behind the binicle, neither in the r/h front kick panel.
I also checked the wiring diagram and the wire that powers the service engine light comes from the engine control unit.
The service engine light remains on!!!
Any sugestions?
A: Check that all the abs sensors have no debris on them, are seated properly and the sensor retainers are lubricated and tight. Wabco uses a special gray grease to ensure that there is no corrosion between the copper sensor bushing and the sensor.
You will have to check that all of the sensors display the same speed. If not replace the incorrect sensor. Incorrect readings can be cause by poor connections. Check resistance and voltage readings on a DVOM.
Q: Why is the Land Rover Defender, the British Army’s Light Armoured Vehicle?
The soldiers are complaining about how bad they are and that they are not Armoured enough. Why don’t they have an Armoured Range Rover of Discovery instead of an old Defender?
The US has a Humvee as their equivalent.
Britain has the 3rd largest defense budget so they could easily to have a Range Rover or Discovery instead for the defender/wolf.
A: a range rover is the up market land rover (with air con, sat nav etc.), the car and chassis are the same. they use the defender (the armoured version is known as the ‘Snatch’) because it is much better off road and far more reliable. in the gulf, some were reported to have been overturned and still worked when they were turned back over. the US humvee suffers the same problem as the Snatch. both are designed to defend troops from small arms fire and cant protect against IEDs and multiple RPG hits. the army is replacing the Snatches with better armoured vehicles but in regards to our defense budget. we are currently building aircraft carriers similar in size to the US Nimitz class and have ordered a load of F35s and Typhoons. this is more important than replacing land rovers that are extremely reliable and good at what they were designed for. the role they are given in iraq and afghanistan is not what they were designed for, a range rover would not help.
Q: Why is the Land Rover Defender so down on power??
I understand that it was never built to break any land speed records, and most people who will actually use a defender probably wont need to go faster than 60 mph at the most (95 Km/h). But the thing is just so damn heavy you’d expect them to give it something with a little more horsepower and an extra 50 to 100 ftlbs of torque.
A: Greater displacement often equals greater fuel consumption. Try getting out and trudging to the nearest BP station when you are in the middle of the Serengeti.
Q: What paint do they use on the official Land Rover Defender bull bars?
I have recently brought a bull bar for a defender, however it is quite old and the paint is peeling in a couple of places, I was wondering what paint to use to repaint these bits?
Also it is black!
A: the paint that they use on the land rovers and range rovers is lincolns high quality paint its almolst sorta like cadillac paint volvo also use the same and jaguar they are owned by ford built by ford i found this out when i took a tour of the ford car plant in gorgeia i saw jags volvos land rovers range rovers being maid right befor my eyes it was amzaing. on the outside of atlanta belive me ive done my homework they are american cars iv enen investigated the paint process on the volvos ,jaguars, and licolons and land rovers ther all the same grade and qaulity of paint
Q: would a land rover defender 90 be a pricey first car?
i want a land rover defender 90 (any year between 1986-1999) for my first car and for off road use what costs should i expect? eg – mpg, insurance, tax etc
A: Pretty pricey, but a brilliant off-roader. You can try looking at ex-army ones, or second hand ones generally. People buy them and then need more room for kids and things and sell them for a 110
MPG can be terrible in low-ratio and not that good on the road.
Insurance will depend on your age. You could register it to your Dad if you’re under 25.
