Q: Ford Edge?
My Mom and I are considering buying the 2008 Ford Edge. I am About 6 foot 3 and enjoyed the amount of space in the edge compared to the explorer and escape. We are planning on traveling much and also would like to know if we should get the ford nav or aftermarket. Does anyone have any reviews on the edge or another vehicle that may be better.

I have always been a ford fan and we recieve the Z-plan on all new models of ford.

A: The Ford nav is cool but is comparable to the units such as Tom Tom and others with updates done by discs that cost $200 however.. the other units are cheaper to update but invite theft a lot more than the Ford in-dash unit

But I’ve found it to be very accurate once loaded up and set up

The edge I haven’t been able to really drive too many as they aren’t breaking down so that’s a real good sign:-)

But another thing maybe the Taurus X for fuel mileage but is more of a car than the Edge

I’m going to be starting drivers ed pretty soon. And my parents asked me what kind of car I would want. I love the look of the ford edge, but would this be a good 1st car? And do you like the looks of them? Thanks.

A: The Edge is quite crashworthy, and that is always good. It is a fine looking vehicle in my estimation. Several of my friends drive them and love them. I have one friend who crashed his and it did extremely well in the crash. It held together well and the passengers had no injury in a crash that occured at highway speed.

Q: How do you tell if your Ford Edge has Sirius capabilities?
My husband and I just bought a new 2008 Ford Edge. It has the auxilary button and iPod hookup but I was wondering how you tell if it’s Sirius ready? Does anyone know what buttons to press to get the phone number? Do you have to have SYNC in order to have sirius in the 2008 Ford Edge??? No hater’s please!

A: I just bought a brand new 08 mustang gt and it came with Sirius for 6 months. I’m assuming the Edge would come with it for 6 months as well. There should be a Aux button that you can press and it will say In line, Sat 1, and Sat 2. (press it a few times to scroll through these)

Q: How do I activate SIRIUS on my Sync enabled Ford Edge?
I have a 2010 Ford Edge with SYNC and the media system with the screen. There is no satellite radio button, but in the settings there is a SIRIUS Radio ESN, and there is a factory installed SIRIUS antenna on the roof. In the “media” section of SYNC, there is the usual jukebox CD and line in, but no satellite radio option – how do I get it to show so I can use it?

Q: Which used car would you purchase: A certified used 2006 Ford Explorer or a 2007 Ford Edge?
The Explorer has less than 21k miles and is in great condition. It’s certified used by Ford but has worse gas mileage than the Edge.

The Edge has 18k mi, but the CARFAX report shows an accident and damage to the front of the vehicle. No damage is apparent upon inspection of the car, but the extent of the damage is uncertain. I like the design of the Edge, but am reluctant due to uncertain damages.

Thoughts?

A: Without doubt , buy the Explorer , never buy a accident repaired car.The Explorer gives 18mpg
and the Edge 21 mpg , but the Explorer is more spacious, can seat 7, and is built more sturdy than the Edge, and above all its a certified vehicle.

Q: What’s the song from the ford edge commercial?
What’s the song from the ford edge commercial? It’s the one with the panoramic view and the friends are going out to dinner and the one girl looks up out the top window the whole time and then they call the car phone and ask if she wants to get something to go. I love this commercial! But I can’t figure out what song it is because all they said is “ooh” haha. Anyone know what it is or how to find out?

Q: I’m thinking about buying a Ford Edge, but for comparison, what are some similar vehicles from other makers?
I like the Ford Edge. I like the Escape too but I need something just a bit bigger than the Escape, so I am leaning more towards the Edge.

What are some vehicles from other auto makers that would be good to compare the Edge with in terms of price, size, and features?

Q: Where do you find the keypad code on a Ford Edge?
I just bought a 2007 Ford Edge and was not given the keypad code for the door. I checked the glove box & the owners manual with no luck. Can anyone tell me if it is hidden anywhere else on the car? I REALLY dont want to pay Ford to tell me.

A: some people think its on the powertrain control module, but I believe its in the fuse box. First ignore the random numbers that is attached to several wires, the sticker with the unique 5 digit code will be located on the fuse panel attached to the flat surface.

Q: How to connect ipod to my ford edge?
I have a Ford, Edge. I believe it’s a 2008 model. It has the Microsfot SYNC thing. When I connect my ipod with the USB into my car, it says the ipod has been connected. On top of the ipod screen i see the label for FORD. but. i don’t know how to get the music to work. it’s not working and i believe i need to push a few buttons to get it to work. help please?

A: ok once u have the ipod in press the aux button on the radio…then press menu (big round button on right) once in the aux menu…then use the seek buttons to find select src (source) and find ipod or USB in there and then it should play! let me know if this works or not i can try another thing too!! thanks man!

Q: What kind of bike rack can I use on my Ford Edge?
I just bought a new 2010 Ford Edge, but it does not have a hitch on it for a bike rack. I can’t reach to put my bike on the roof. Is there a rack out there that would work?

A: You could have a hitch installed on your car. Every time I buy a new car I insist that the dealer include a hitch once we have agreed on the price. Hitch racks are the easiest to install and remove, and they don’t touch any painted surface of the car which can cause scratches. There are many hitch rack designs, I prefer the type that support the bikes from under the wheels. I can install my rack and 2 bikes on the car in less than 5 minutes

A: check tire size, bolt pattern, and hub center. the 20’s might be too wide and tall for the egde, it’s a much smaller vehicle

Q: Is it better to buy a 2007 ford edge SEL plus make or a 2005 Nissan murano SL make?
Which vehicle will last longer? Why dont people buy a vehicle that was in an accident (minor-air bags did not deploy) Is it okay to get a Ford edge that was in a minor accident but not its fine..has everything or an older murano?

A: Which one is better is going to depend on how well the original owner(s) took care of the vehicle.

Without knowing anything about either vehicle, I would be inclined to say that the Murano will be the better vehicle.

2007 was the first year the Edge was produced, and I am always suspect of the reliability of the first model year of a vehicle.

Plus, the Murano is one of the most reliable SUV’s on the road.

If I were you, I would have the Murano inspected by a certified, independent mechanic. If something is majorly wrong with it, then consider the Edge.

A: I like it. Congrads on your dad buying you a car. Take care of it and treat it as if you bought it.

Q: When will the Ford Edge Sport be available?
I am interested in the Ford Edge Sport shown at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. Any dealers know when this great looking vehicle will be for sale?

A: No Doubt the Edge is a nice ride, I have an 07′. The 09 Edge sport should be out sometime in the fall. (Sept., Oct.)
